Old habits die hard

By Vienna | July 2, 2009

I meant to write about my recent travels. I meant to upload some pictures. I meant to write about my new home. I meant to write about a lot of things. But I didn’t and I am not sure why.

If you’ve notice, I took a step back from blogging. I started to merge blogs because I can’t manage them all separately and I don’t find some of them useful anymore.

I think I got lazy because one of the incentives of blogging is not there anymore. I don’t know how others do it but I can’t simply take a very cheaply priced writing assignment. So unless the status of writing jobs goes back to how it was before, I won’t be accepting any assignment.

But I won’t give up blogging completely. I will be popping every now and then because I’m a blogger through and through. I will be lazy sometimes, I will experience writer’s block sometimes, and I will prefer to do some other things sometimes… but I will always come back to blogging.

I merged more blogs today

By Vienna | June 12, 2009

After merging two blogs, I am again merging and deleting some of my blogs.

Now, my wordpress.com blog My Take on Things is now merged with this blog, MyPinkNotes.com.  Another wordpress.com blog Mindkit is now merged with ViennaLopez.com. Both wordpress.com blogs are now deleted.

If you are still linked to both or any of these deleted blogs, I ask you to please update your links.

The next step for me would be to rearrange the posts, re-categorize them and etc to make the fosterblogs (mypinknotes and viennalopez) less chaotic but these have to wait because I am busy with some other things at the moment.

I am so sorry that I cannot regularly update my blogs anymore. I hope that in a few weeks, I can return to my regular blogging activity. So… until then.

Feeling secured at home

By Vienna | April 30, 2009

We moved in to our new flat three weeks ago and we are slowly settling things down. Our flat, although not 100% furnished yet, has all the basics already. I go out almost every day to get to know the city and I must admit that I really like Graz and the fact that we live in the city center where every important establishment is just a few minutes’ walk from our place.

Living in the city means one has to have a certain level of precautions when going out and also when at home. In our case, we chose a flat that is not only convenient but also safe so like many other flats in this city, our flat too has one of those sophisticated home alarm systems. Our flat is in a building that is century-old but has an alarm system that is of modern and state-of-the-art technology.

I think it is important that a home security system  is to be considered as one of the necessities especially when you are living in a city or in a crowded area.

Sex Myth

By Vienna | April 17, 2009

Being raised in a religious country, there are just so much about sex that I didn’t know until I turned all adult. Sure we were taught about the basics in school but talking about it outside the Sex Education class was just plain embarrassing.

I remember one myth about sex that I believed until one of my older sisters got pregnant and that was—a woman, once pregnant must not have sexual intercourse until the baby’s out otherwise there’s a big chance that the baby will be badly hurt. So the man must endure around nine months of not touching his wife.

Isn’t that just funny and…well, sort of stupid. I am glad that I have two older sisters who enlightened me about some sex questions I had while growing up.

But did you know that there are more sex myth out there that are just as stupid as that one? If you are the kind of person who believes in sex myths or if you doubt whether that thing you know about sex is a myth or not, better visit Sex.HealthGuru.com. Don’t worry it is a pretty decent site that offers loads of information about sex. For example, they have info about sex health, contraceptives, pregnancy, and even sexually transmitted diseases. This site will surely be helpful in answering your questions about sex.

Divvy up for that perfect gift

By Vienna | April 16, 2009

Mothers’ Day is fast approaching and my husband and I decided to do the usual—send flowers and cards. I know that is soooo uncreative but we have a lot of things to think about at the moment and I am sure that my mom, my mother-in-law, and my two sisters will understand.

edivvyFor those of you who are looking for better gift ideas for parents this coming occasion, get some from EDivvy.com. They have quite a lot of choices of unique products perfect for a Mothers Day gift.  And the good thing about this website is that you can divvy up the cost of an item with other people. You don’t have to pay the complete price alone. This is an ideal arrangement for siblings who want to give the one perfect gift to their mom and contribute for it.

I checked the website carefully and I noticed that their items are not just good for Mothers Day gifts but also good for other occasions and they have such a huge collection so you’ll certainly find the right gift for a particular person. Given that this website offers gifts for all occasion and for everybody, is not only helpful to siblings who wants to give a single gift this Mothers Day but also to friends, workmates, neighbors, and schoolmates who want to contribute for a gift for other events.

On having a baby

By Vienna | April 15, 2009

After almost two years of being married we are naturally bombarded with questions such as

“When is the baby coming?”

“Are you already expecting?”

“No? So when do you plan do you plan on having a baby?”

“Sorry but do you have fertility problems?”

“Don’t you ever like to have babies?”

I always answer these questions politely although sometimes they are kind annoying especially when they come from people who are obviously nosey.

Thing is, we are not yet pregnant because we want to stay that way for the time being. That is to say—we are carefully planning and preparing for it but we are also open to surprises. We will always welcome pregnancy whether it happens now or later like we plan. And when it does, it will certainly be great time for me and my husband. It will be my first time and I am quite happy to know that I have loving a loving husband, parents and in-laws who will support me through the process and will help me and give me tips about pregnancy and about raising a child. And if that is not enough, there are websites created to help expectant parents. Websites such as ParentsConnect.com answers and discusses questions that may arise before or during pregnancy. They have expert advices column that offers pregnancy guidance and support from professionals and there is also a forum where parents can simply share about their pregnancy issues and help others with theirs. This website has the answers to various questions about pregnancy and other things connected to being pregnant.

Such websites are truly helpful to parents who are experiencing a wonderful and special time.

A day in Hongkong

By Vienna | April 10, 2009

In our years of stay in China, we always wanted to visit Hongkong mainly because we’ve been in other major cities of China except for this particular city. So when we learned that we only have a few months left to stay in China, we grabbed the chance to visit HK.

A helpful web hosting services comparison site

By Vienna | April 4, 2009

Other than this blog I am also running 6 other blogs plus a small blogging community and I have to say that I am quite happy and contented with my web host. I did encounter a few mishaps with my web sites but they were immediately fixed with the help of my webhost’s client support.

When looking for a web host, it is also important to check all the particulars of the hosting and not just the price. Finding a cheap web hosting is not difficult but finding a web hosting service worthy of the price could be specially because there are hundreds of web hosting services available. This is the reason why there are websites that compare web hosting services from different companies to help you decide which web hosting plan is perfect for your needs. WebHostingReport.com is one of such and not only does this website help you decide on which webhosting service to avail but they also offer guides to web hosting beginners, tips on finding on finding a good web hosting company, and other helpful articles that could help new webmasters.

Gear up for the season

By Vienna | April 2, 2009

The winter is finally over and it is thrilling that the temperature is getting warmer each day. It is once again the time for cool outdoor activities so everybody should gear up for this year’s sunny and hot months.

I already got myself a pair of bikini for the coming lazy warm summer days beside the pool and my husband got himself some outdoor clothing he can alternately wear for camping, trekking, and climbing.

There are a lot of cool outdoor attires you can order online from different internet shops and you can also find alternative outdoor attires and accessories like the military clothes by Tactical Tailor. These are generally tactical clothes but they are also perfect for rough outdoor activities because they are durable comfortable and practical.
