I have been in China for about 15 months so you can imagine the intensity of my cravings for Philippine food. How can I not miss those fresh fruits, vegetables, and seafood? And those that are seemingly not accepted by Renes sensitive stomach like balot, TJ hotdogs, tinapa, chicharon, tuyo, tapa, daing, tocino, bagoong, alamang, canton, halo halo, and a lot more. Sigh!. Why cant I find these here in China, a place where there is a huge range of weird and strongly stinking cuisine that will put our famous bagoong to shame? Believe it or not but bagoong will smell like Chanel No. 5 when compared to some food here.
So before we went to Malaysia I expected to find similar food there since Philippines and Malaysia are more alike than Philippines and China and I wasn’t disappointed. Well,I didnt find most of the true blue Pinoy food (or the weird ones) but I was really glad to find tropical food that I and Rene can agree on and indulge in.
