Like Those Days…

There is one irritating thing that just happened. I was cooking Adobo and it was burned to the point that neither man nor animal can eat it. If it were, I would gladly admit that it’s my fault but it’s not.

The administrators of this place claim that this place has the best of everything. Jaja. It’s been days since we are experiencing “low gas”. Meaning there is not enough gas to heat the water in the boiler and not enough gas coming out of the cooking stove. We experience this normally during rush hours like 6am-8am, 11am-1pm, and 4pm-8pm. In these times, you cannot cook or you cannot take a shower.

Anyway since Adobo only needs a low heat to be cooked, I put it in the pot and let it cook on the stove which has a low gas (with the regulator turned on to the maximum). I left the kitchen and went back after 10 minutes only to find out that the Adobo is burned. Why? Because during these 10 minutes, we miraculously got enough gas so the stove which is regulated to the maximum released too much heat for the Adobo to take.

It sucks! This is one of those times when I loathe living in China. Here, you can never be sure of what you will get.

Now the lunch is gone and I probably would need a week’s time to clean the pot!
