The Woman Behind this Blog

This is the first time for me to place pictures in this blog. If you haven’t seen yet, I also updated my about me page and put a picture of me there.

vm.JPGSo yeah this is me and my very handsome Austrian husband, Marcus. We are currently living in the land of the Middle—where the kinds of noodles are uncountable, where culture is rich and enduring, and where a lot of websites are blocked! Haha. Yes, we are in China and we are loving it here… (liar, liar!).

Why is the picture blur? Because Marcus is not so comfortable in showing his face to the whole of the world wide web so he said that if I must put a picture of him then let it be the blurred ones (nonsense).

The Two Geeks dot Com

I bought a new domain name today for my fourth blog. My target is to have seven blogs but I don’t know if I can manage all of them. I want all my blogs to be all well kept and frequently updated so I am creating one each time to see if I still have a room for one more. My new blog’s URL is www.thetwogeeks.com. The two geeks would be me and my husband, Marcus. He promised to take part in this blog so I am looking forward to his help. Maybe not with the content of the blog but with the graphics and layouts.

By the way, if you noticed I placed an Alexa widget on my sidebar today. Alright, it is not showing an impressive Alexa rank but I put it there because I want to see my Alexa progress without going to the Alexa site. I will not make this post long because I have to install a wordpress blog on thetwogeeks and I also have to choose a template for it. In the meantime, I advise you to read this very funny and interesting post by John Cow. It will surely lighten you up.

Myla Blocked Me

“myla blocked me”

This is one of the searches that lead to this blog days ago I didn’t write about it until now because I decided to ignore it but something happen today which gave me a really weird feeling.

Am I being cyber stalked?

Smorty’s Thanksgiving Gift

My other blog just got accepted by Smorty today. When Google updated its Page Ranking last October, my blog was left behind because it is too young and it has too little content to be eligible for any Page Rank. When I submitted it to Smorty yesterday, I was a little bit hesitant because I thought without a Page Rank, Smorty will just reject it but I was wrong. Smorty accepted it and immediately gave me 4 opportunities.

Sure, the offered prices are not comparable to what Smorty normally offers to blogs which has a PR of 4, 5, or 6 but I am still happy that my blog got accepted. Finally, my Webcash blog is qualified to generate income from sponsored posts.

By the way, have you logged in to your Smorty account today? If not, do so because there is a must read message from Smorty to its members about the changes which Google made with regards to sponsored postings.

Lastly, happy thanksgiving to all!

Proxy Site Blocked?

For some reason S-hhhh.com which is a proxy site is not working so well these days. I still can load their page but if I try to load blocked pages thru their site, I get errors. Maybe this is my usual paranoid self again but is it possible to block a proxy site? China is able to block a lot of sites so it is probably not impossible for them to block a proxy site. I don’t know it’s just my guess but if it is right I hope they will not block another proxy site which I am using to update my blog because as we know well, WordPress.com is blocked here in China.

WordPress.com Blogs Get Banned

Smorty, my favourite blog advertising network just banned blogs hosted by WordPress.com. I am not surprised because Blogvertise already banned WordPress.com blogs and LinkyLoveArmy just banned them too. These blog advertising sites are not bad. They are banning WordPress.com blogs because they are giving in to WordPress.com’s TOS which firmly prohibits sponsored posts. In a way these blog advertising site are rejecting your WordPress.com blogs or banning them because they don’t want that WordPress.com will delete your blog completely. Another reason why you should just get an account in Blogger.Com if you can’t host your own blog.

Like Those Days…

There is one irritating thing that just happened. I was cooking Adobo and it was burned to the point that neither man nor animal can eat it. If it were, I would gladly admit that it’s my fault but it’s not.

The administrators of this place claim that this place has the best of everything. Jaja. It’s been days since we are experiencing “low gas”. Meaning there is not enough gas to heat the water in the boiler and not enough gas coming out of the cooking stove. We experience this normally during rush hours like 6am-8am, 11am-1pm, and 4pm-8pm. In these times, you cannot cook or you cannot take a shower.

Anyway since Adobo only needs a low heat to be cooked, I put it in the pot and let it cook on the stove which has a low gas (with the regulator turned on to the maximum). I left the kitchen and went back after 10 minutes only to find out that the Adobo is burned. Why? Because during these 10 minutes, we miraculously got enough gas so the stove which is regulated to the maximum released too much heat for the Adobo to take.

It sucks! This is one of those times when I loathe living in China. Here, you can never be sure of what you will get.

Now the lunch is gone and I probably would need a week’s time to clean the pot!
