A Geek’s Day

Wake up at 6:30 and prepare a breakfast for Marcus.

At 7:00 Marcus leaves for work and I have 30 minutes to clean up the breakfast table, make the bed, and fix myself up.

At 7:30 I am in my office (which is also in our house). First I log in to my YM and then check my emails and log in to my blog advertising networks to see if there are available opps for me. Around this time, the cleaning lady will come to clean the house (sort of).

I have four blogs but right now but only my Webcash blog is accepted by PPP and Smorty. The rest are still too young–including this blog.

Anyway, I normally write two sponsored posts everyday, meaning I have to write four posts in my Webcash blog (sponsored post-interim-sponsored post-interim). I do it like this because I want a non-sponsored post/interim to be the most recent post.

After that, I go to my other blogs to update them as well. I usually finish updating my blogs by 12:00.

After updating, I go to my Google Analytics account to check the stats of my blogs.

After that, blog hopping, researching, and troubleshooting would be next. It takes so much time but recently I limit myself to doing this until 13:00.

At 13:00, I make myself something to eat then I eat (hehe). I have then the whole afternoon for other housework like ironing (isssh!). Sometimes I do some reading, some watching (CSI, Prison break, movies), some German lessons, or some shopping. I am not a shopaholic (maybe just a little bit). Because of the cold season, I just go out of the house when I need to. Like when I go and buy grocery stuffs.

I go back in front of my computer at 17:00 to check some updates or some comments or some emails. This is what I do until Marcus arrives home from work. When he arrives, we sit down on the couch and talk about our day then after that I go to the kitchen to cook. Sometimes, he helps me but I prefer if he doesn’t because I feel that I am working faster without him in the kitchen so I urge him to do something else while I am cooking. After that we eat then we watch something together. Then we shower together (depends on the mood) or at the same time (we have separate bathrooms).  Go to bed, talk to each other until we fall asleep. Sweet.

Can’t Create Categories?-Problem Solved!

I was having problems with my WordPress blog since I installed the WP-Cache plugin. The problems are:

1. I cannot add a new category in my posts
2. I cannot add a new category in my blogroll
3. I cannot delete post
4. I cannot delete any comment (not that I want to)

Whenever I try to create a new category I get the error:

Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

So I went to WordPress.org and search their forums for ways to fix the problem. I tried a lot of ways but they lead me to nowhere. At some point after trying a lot of “workarounds”, I tried creating a category by entering category name, etc. and then hitting submit, but NOTHING happens. No new category. No Error. Nothing. I got more and more frustrated until I followed one advice from WordPress.org forum and that is to delete all my WordPress core files using an FTP client and upload another fresh set of core files to my web server. (Take note : Core files are everything except what’s in your wp-content folder and your wp-config.php file). It was a long process but finally, my WordPress blog works fine.

Free WordPress.Com!

Don’t be fooled! WordPress.com is still blocked in China. Not completely but it is still block. You can load WordPress.com without a proxy and you can also log in but that’s until there. You can not access your dashboard, you cannot update your blogs and you cannot view your blog or any other wordpress.com blog.

When will they free WordPress.com completely?

The fact that GFWC is blocking WordPress.com has been giving me headaches for months now. How long will they keep it like this? Don’t they know that there are proxies that enable users to view blocked sites making it is useless to block sites? What do they think blocking is for? Shielding their citizens from useless or harmful info? What is there not to know? Why are they forbidding their citizens to know about the Beijing Massacre or Taiwan’s independence? It’s part of their history. Or maybe not a lot of them know that these are part of their history and this is their way of hiding it from their citizens. Their way of dummyfying their people.
