Penny Wise is an Official DoFollow Blog

I have uploaded a wonderful WordPress plugin on my Penny Wise blog. Lucia’s Linky Love is a plugin that enable your blog to strip “nofollow” tags from links in comment. So in essence, it is a very good way to encourage people to comment on your posts.

The good thing about this plugin is that you can still moderate which comments get a dofollow tag and how long the do follow tags last. In the case of Penny wise, I set it to 3 comments. So if a commentator commented 3 times already, the fourth comment and the succeeding comments will get a dofollow tag. And the do follow tag will stay there forever.

It wont be long, My Pink Notes and my other blogs will implement a dofollow tags on comments as well.

Spread the love. Do comment and I will follow.

Elegant Roman Shades

I was scanning our pictures when I saw this. It was taken during my 25th birthday. Anyway, I am showing it to you not because of the flowers I got from my husband but because of the curtain. Don’t you think it looks nice? Well that is not exactly a curtain. It is called a Roman shade. Roman shades are very good window treatment. They are simple yet very sophisticated and elegant. They will surely look nice in any window and in any room given that you choose the perfect color and the perfect size.

If you would like to change from regular curtains to Roman shades, you can get discount Roman shades in Selectblinds.com. They have a wide array of Roman shades at very reasonable prices. Check out Selectblinds.com now and avail of their discounted prices.

Meeting Sam

We are heading to Manila tonight to meet my cousin Sam. I am so excited to see her. She is about my age and she is now a successful Finance Consultant. She is working in one of those big companies in Makati. I haven’t seen her in a long time so I am sure she changed a lot since the last time we saw each other. I remember her as someone who is very pretty but is oblivious to her looks. In fact, she was (and maybe still) a little bit tomboyish.

Well anyway, she and my mom are starting a business so that is the main reason why we are meeting her tonight. We should leave Tarlac at four so it means I have to get going now and prepare.

I probably won’t be able to blog tomorrow and the day after that. Sucks! We’ll try to get SmartBro ASAP.

First Few Days at Home

I have been here for 6 days and here are the things I did so far

1. Mall hopping with mom and dad
2. Jolibbee spree with Ron, my nephew.
3. Karaoke (inside our house)
4. Renewing my NBI clearance
5. Eating all those food and fruits I so miss
6. Cleaning and preparing for Marcus’ arrival

In between those things, all I can think of are blogging and how much I miss surfing the internet. Yes, we don’t have an internet at home so my blogging is very irregular. I can post 5 entries in a day and 0 the next day. Every time I have a chance to use an internet connection, I grab it and then I blog until it’s time to go home in our remote neighborhood where the number of Karaoke stands are more than the number of houses with a television. Can you imagine how noisy it is in the evening? Our house is along the main road (like 75% of all the Filipino houses, hihihi) so imagine the sound of all those tricycle passing by adding up to the irritating voices from the Karaoke stands. Hmmm… not a very pretty thing to listen to.

I am so not used to this anymore. Of course, I will always welcome the opportunity to come home and see my parents but there are just some things which I wish I can avoid. And those are:

1. not having an internet connection
2. noisy surrounding
3. noisy tricycles that cause heavy traffic

But anyway, no matter what…I love Philippines and I will keep coming back.

My Pink Notes and PPP

Finally, PPP approved My Pink Notes to be included in their long list of blogs. I can now use My Pink Notes to earn more money.

I am sure that most of my blogging friends already know about Payperpost and I am sure that most of them are members of PPP. I know this because I learned about Payperpost by reading one of their blogs. Now for those of you who don’t know about this blog network that pays you to write about things that interest you, then you are probably missing a lot. Payperpost is a huge and continuously growing network of bloggers and advertisers who benefit from each other. How? Simple. Through PPP, advertisers can compensate bloggers to write about their products and services.

It is so easy to join, as a blogger all you need to have is a respectable 3 month old blog with at least 20 posts in it and a Paypal account. That’s all. If you have these, you may directly sign-up with PPP and wait for a few days for PPP’s approval. Once you blog is approved, you can immediately start earning money with you blog.

And don’t worry if your blog didn’t get an approval, you can resubmit it in another time when you feel that your blog meets PPP requirements.

Check out PPP now and blog your way to money!

An Episode with My Nephew

My four year old nephew, Ron and I were one day sitting on a bench in the backyard where we can see a small piece of farm land. While sitting there, I have noticed this small lump of land just right at the foot of a tree so I told him “Ron if you are bad, I will give you to the Nuno” I am sorry, I know I am not supposed to frighten kids but at that moment it was like the most interesting thing to say. I wanted to stir his curiosity and his interest. I wanted him to ask me what a Nuno ( a dwarflike creature believe to inhabit small lumps of land) is but he gave me the most unexpected reply. He said “ Sige, ipapasungay din kita sa kalabaw! (Do that and I will let the Carabao horn you/attack you with his horn)!” while pointing at the carabao who is having his quite afternoon eating grass.

I wanted to laugh but I didn’t. I wanted to show him that it was not nice what he said and he was being very impolite.

Anyway in the end, it wasn’t his interest that was stirred. It was mine. How can a four year old say that? I think he watches too much TV or that he doesn’t have a kid neighbor to play with and interact with. Most of the time, he is just surrounded with foul-mouthed adults. Not my mom or my sister but our workers. That is the reason why he speak like a foul-mouthed adult as well. He is smart, yes. He taught me a lesson… never ever frightened kids with Nuno and Tikbalangs… they already know all those and that all of those are not real.

Be a Part of Disaboom

While more and more people are getting addicted to network communities such as Friendster, Facebook, Myspace and the likes, here comes an all new brand of a networking site. Because the disabled community developed a culture unto itself, Disaboom brings a new meaning to the word “community” by fostering such culture. This newly launched website aims to build up a community that will motivate the disabled to live their life in a more meaningful way. This community will be composed of disabled people and people who are dedicated to helping those with disabilities. Members are encouraged to share their stories about living with disabilities –their struggles and triumphs.

Disaboom gives depth to the word “community” because the community it is expanding has a very sensible and compassionate goal and that is to provide the information, connection, and inspiration people with disabilities to define who they are, and what life they will lead.

You don’t have to have a disability to join because everybody is welcome. Infact, Disaboom is already a growing network of medical practitioners, housewives, students, athletes, and a lot of people who are touched by disability. Your expertise, your experience and even your curiosity are welcome and will be entertained. Be a part of Disaboom, be an inspiration and be inspired.
