A Lose or Lose Situation for Posties

My PR is gone…

Yes. When Google updated its Page Ranking last January 2008, this blog got a PR of 3. I thought…cool. Then I submitted this blog to PPP. After doing 2 opps for PPP, Google took my PR away.

Last night while I was browsing through my PPP opportunities section, I just saw two opps available for me and both don’t require a PR. I already felt something is up so this morning, the first thing I did was to go to a Page Rank checker site ( because I don’t trust my toolbar) to check my PR and sure enough, it is now officially 0.

I think it is cruel of Google to do that and PPP sucks for not being able to do something about it. See, PPP launched RR last January with the aim to fix this Google PR problem but until now advertisers still have the option to require PR.

When will this end? Sure Google has its own reasons to take the PR of blogs doing sponsored posts, sure advertisers have their own reason why they want their sponsored post in blogs with PR, and sure PPP has its own reason why until now they still allow advertisers to require PR. Sure.

But who will look after the interests of posties? We are left with 2 options :

1. Do sponsored posts, have a PR of zero = no opps= no earnings
2. Have a PR, do not do sponsored opps = no earnings

See, either way it is a lose/lose situation for posties.

Don’t tell me to quit blogging and get a real job because for many of us, this is our real job. Blogging is a job and we are working for a company, is it not but right that the company we are working for will also look after our interests and not only theirs?

So…

Payperpost when will this madness end?

Blogging Plans

The good thing about blogging outside China is that you can freely roam around the blogosphere. Here in the Philippines, I can visit all the sites I want to visit without having to worry about internet censorship. Blogs are open and uncensored here—one thing I can truly appreciate because I have been in China for a very long time.

Sure, we are in a remote place where internet cafes have crappy computers and internet connections but I still do enjoy the freedom of blog hopping without doing anything extra like using a proxy site like what I do when I surf blocked sites in China. Back in China, I have a small home office my husband set up for me. I have complete office furniture, a high-speed wireless internet connection, a 3-in-one printer/scanner/photocopier, and a laptop but as a blogger who reads and would like to be read, an uncensored internet connection is very important.

I am planning to make blogging a real job since I earn more money doing this than teaching. My husband said, I can continue this when we finally settle in Europe. It would be the perfect for me at the moment and for the next few months. Depends on how it will turn out. As for my blogs, 4 of them will be dedicated to doing sponsored posts and the two will be just for the heck of blogging.

An Evening Wedding

While daytime wedding is still preferred, more and more couples are opting for an evening wedding nowadays not only because it is way more formal to perform the wedding in the evening than during the daytime but also because evening gives an impression of elegance and romance. Imagine getting married in a garden decorated with bright sparkling wedding lights of different colors…I am sure, it is a pretty view.

So whether you are the one planning for that special evening wedding or you have an event planner working for you, adding sophistication and classiness by installing LED lights as decorations is a great idea. “Why not just use the old incandescent string of light bulbs,” you might ask. There are a lot of reasons why using LED lights is recommended and two of which are: LED lights doesn’t use filaments to burn out and there is no glass bulbs to break. So unless you like the light decorations to last the whole night and that there would be no risk of fire, LED lights is really a better option. And if you think that LED lights are expensive, check out the leading online retailer, HolidayLEDs.com, and you’ll see that their prices for LED lights are very reasonable. They have a wide array of designs and colors of LED lights so you will surely find that which suits your wedding. If not, they are ready to help you find the appropriate LED lights to suit the purpose of your choice.
