Episode with Hotels

We were set to go to Guimaras island for our holiday. I booked the flights and the hotel but we experience a problem about the hotel booking. See, when I reserved a room in the hotel, they emailed me saying that I have until…can’t remember which day…to pay the full amount but until then they can’t confirm my booking. They wanted me to pay by depositing the amount to their (travel agent office) bank account and I failed to do that. I was I guess two days late and by the time I called them to say that I am depositing the money, they said that we lost our reservation and that the hotel is already fully booked.

But anyway, I didn’t let that ruin our holiday so I searched again and decided to go to another island—Bohol. I consulted another travel agency and tried to book a room. Unfortunately, all my chosen resorts were fully booked that time because of the Chinese New Year but the agent suggested a particular resort (which I will discuss in another post) that has rooms available. After hearing her nice description about the resort, I reserved it and on the following day I paid for it in full.

I thought it would be smooth sailing from there on but we were so disappointed when we got to the resort. It wasn’t a very nice place so to cut the story short, I complained to the travel agent and I express my apologies to the hotel because we are cancelling and we are moving to another resort in the area. The resort manager was being nice (that’s what I thought) to offer to take us to another resort.

In all fairness to them, they took us to a very nice resort (picture above) and we were lucky to get one of those breach front cottages. The place was nice and all the staff were very friendly and were always pleasant. The resort offers also a lot of things that their guests can do and I am quite sure that they’re one of those pet friendly hotels because I have seen a few guests with their pets. Actually the one in the picture below is a dog who is usually being walked along the beach every morning by his German master who was there for a month with his whole family.

Well anyway, I have to say that even though we encountered a lot of hassles, our holiday still turned out to be great.

My Favorite Winter Thing

“There is no bad weather, there are just bad clothes”. It’s probably a proverb in their part of the world where my husband grew up because I heard that first from him. Back in the tropics, you can wear the same line of clothing from January to December because you don’t have to worry about being cold but in a place where there are four seasons like where we are now, you have to have a set of clothes for each season.

This is one of the two The North Face jackets my husband bought for me. He said that this particular brand should be very god because they specialize in making winter wear and that they are known for it. I trust him because the fact the he is from Austria should say that he knows more about dressing up for winter than me—a tropical girl. I have to say that I like my jackets a lot because unlike other winter jackets, they keep me really warm, they are not fluffy and they don’t make me look like Michelin. You can also get one for yourself from BreckGear.com. They are a trusted distributor of various North Face products. Order from them now while they are on sale and avail of their free shipping offer.

Vienna is Pregnant

Haha.

But to make it clear now, I am not on the family way (although there’s nothing wrong with that because I am an adult and I am married) so save your heart warming congratulations.

I post this in contra to the image found in “One Hot Sexy Blogger!

Clearly, this is one of Marcus’ stolen shots and I believe he took it to subtly say that I should watch my weight now. Haha.

Oh well, I worked so hard to gain weight (honestly!) but I guess I have over done it.
