Episode with Hotels

We were set to go to Guimaras island for our holiday. I booked the flights and the hotel but we experience a problem about the hotel booking. See, when I reserved a room in the hotel, they emailed me saying that I have until…can’t remember which day…to pay the full amount but until then they can’t confirm my booking. They wanted me to pay by depositing the amount to their (travel agent office) bank account and I failed to do that. I was I guess two days late and by the time I called them to say that I am depositing the money, they said that we lost our reservation and that the hotel is already fully booked.

But anyway, I didn’t let that ruin our holiday so I searched again and decided to go to another island—Bohol. I consulted another travel agency and tried to book a room. Unfortunately, all my chosen resorts were fully booked that time because of the Chinese New Year but the agent suggested a particular resort (which I will discuss in another post) that has rooms available. After hearing her nice description about the resort, I reserved it and on the following day I paid for it in full.

I thought it would be smooth sailing from there on but we were so disappointed when we got to the resort. It wasn’t a very nice place so to cut the story short, I complained to the travel agent and I express my apologies to the hotel because we are cancelling and we are moving to another resort in the area. The resort manager was being nice (that’s what I thought) to offer to take us to another resort.

In all fairness to them, they took us to a very nice resort (picture above) and we were lucky to get one of those breach front cottages. The place was nice and all the staff were very friendly and were always pleasant. The resort offers also a lot of things that their guests can do and I am quite sure that they’re one of those pet friendly hotels because I have seen a few guests with their pets. Actually the one in the picture below is a dog who is usually being walked along the beach every morning by his German master who was there for a month with his whole family.

Well anyway, I have to say that even though we encountered a lot of hassles, our holiday still turned out to be great.

My Favorite Winter Thing

“There is no bad weather, there are just bad clothes”. It’s probably a proverb in their part of the world where my husband grew up because I heard that first from him. Back in the tropics, you can wear the same line of clothing from January to December because you don’t have to worry about being cold but in a place where there are four seasons like where we are now, you have to have a set of clothes for each season.

This is one of the two The North Face jackets my husband bought for me. He said that this particular brand should be very god because they specialize in making winter wear and that they are known for it. I trust him because the fact the he is from Austria should say that he knows more about dressing up for winter than me—a tropical girl. I have to say that I like my jackets a lot because unlike other winter jackets, they keep me really warm, they are not fluffy and they don’t make me look like Michelin. You can also get one for yourself from BreckGear.com. They are a trusted distributor of various North Face products. Order from them now while they are on sale and avail of their free shipping offer.

Vienna is Pregnant

Haha.

But to make it clear now, I am not on the family way (although there’s nothing wrong with that because I am an adult and I am married) so save your heart warming congratulations.

I post this in contra to the image found in “One Hot Sexy Blogger!

Clearly, this is one of Marcus’ stolen shots and I believe he took it to subtly say that I should watch my weight now. Haha.

Oh well, I worked so hard to gain weight (honestly!) but I guess I have over done it.

Mt. Pinatubo Expedition

Finally, I was able to climb Mt. Pinatubo. I mean, it is very near our place but I never got the chance to see it until recently. Looks like Mt. Pinatubo is becoming popular among tourists and adventurers. There were a lot of foreigners we’ve met along the way.

We started that day a little bit later than planned because we slept too long. We drove to the nearest neighbourhood to Mr. Pinatubo and there we registered in this small government office. We needed to pay for one of those jeeps while big wheels (hehehe don’t know exactly what to call them). They cost 2,500PHP. Then we also have to pay for a guide (500PHP), toll fee for road they call skyway (500), and passes—50PHP each for mom, dad and, me (because we are locals) and for Marcus they asked him to pay 1,150PHP. On the way, he kept saying that he cannot believe how big the difference he needed to pay all because he is a foreigner and that he felt that there was a little bit of racism going on. Haha!

Here some of the pictures:

In Need of Quick Cash?

Websites that are offering loans are like mushrooms these days. There are just too many of them—payday loans, personal cash advance, small business loans, unsecured loans, credit cards, etc. You name it and you’ll certainly find it online so there is no excuse in borrowing money from friends and relatives.

Getting a cash advance online is very easy. So if you are short of cash, save yourself from embarrassment and borrow it from PersonalCashAdvance.com instead of borrowing it from your buddy who is most likely having some financial difficulty as well. Don’t worry because singing up and qualifying for a cash advance is fast and easy. In most cases, you just need to give some basic information about yourself and they most probably won’t require you to fax any documents. They will review your application immediately and once it is approved, they’ll electronically deposit the whole amount you applied for into your bank account. They offer up to $1500.00 for personal cash advances and normally, it will take just a few hours or a day for you to get your loan.

Paying it is also not difficult because they offer flexible payment options. You can pay the loan in full as soon as you have the money, pay the loan in full on the maturity date listed in the loan agreement, pay the finance fee and a portion of the principle on or before the maturity date, or pay only the finance fee on the maturity date.

I Have a PR 7 ???

I don’t know why but when I went to iwebtool.com yesterday to check my PR, I got this result:

pagerank.jpg

Looks like MyPinkNotes.com has a PR 7 in some of Google’s databases… or could it be just a glitch in iwebtools.com’s or Google’s system… what do you think?

I personally think, it is just too good to be true.

Hahaha!

I don’t know where I got the nerve to call myself that. (Kapal ng mukha, no?)

Anyway, this was taken during our recent trip to the Philippines. This is just to give you a preview (kum baga e patikim lang yan!)… there will be more pictures to come.

Back to Normal

It is still so cold here. -15 degrees Centigrade is not really my most favourite temperature and after going to the Philippines and having three weeks of hot sunny days in the tropics made it more difficult for me to bear the freezing cold.

Geez! Here in our place, we have like nine cold months, three of them are bearable and six are just excruciatingly cold. This is the reason why we make sure that within these months, we will take one holiday somewhere warm.

Anyway, everything goes back to normal—doing the laundry, ironing, cleaning, and learning German. Ishh! I have to learn it. I just wish there is a way I can speak German without ever going through the difficulty of learning it. On a brighter side, I can continue my blogging, uncontrollable surfing, and movie watching. So, it is still nice to be back.
