PSP: German Lesson Alternative

My husband mentioned about buying his own PSP eight months ago and I remember that I was against it. I told him, the only way he’ll be allowed to buy a PSP is if he agrees to buy a pink one (hehe). Of course he didn’t agree but eight months later he bought one anyway. His new SONY PSP slim costs 1,600RMB (160 EU) –silver colored, brand new with accessories like pocket, silicon case, and external battery.

So, it’s not bad. It’s not as expensive as I thought it would be.

Now since he goes to work everyday from 7:30 to 6:00, the PSP is free (evil laugh). I never thought I would like such thing but it can really be addicting. Playing PSP now officially fills my time for studying my German.

Feeling Dumb

I just got back from my German class and right now, I just feel that I had enough of it. I don’t now maybe I am not that smart. I mean really, German is a very difficult language to learn. There’s just no way to go around it. I have to memorize all! Like the table below:

I mean common! In English there’s the word “the” for everything.

Something About Waste Management

One of the major problems of developing cities with high number of population is waste management. Like most cities in Asia for example, these cities have not been mapped out before their population growth so as a result, they are having problems managing wastes from their residents and their industries. Cities like these are in need of a department that formulates effective waste management plans and this department should employ wise and cost effective waste management software that are perfect solution for managing landfills, transfer stations, waste-to-energy facilities, MRFs, and recycling facilities like what they offer at Carolina Software Inc. For 20 years, this company has been reliably installing and supporting waste management software in locations all over the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Their line of products namely, WasteWorks, WasteWizard, and WasteWalker are widely recognized for providing effective waste disposal information.

Moving Soon

I have like a month and a half left to pack all our things and ship them to Europe. I hate it! Not Europe but moving in general. I hate the stress that accompanies it. I hate leaving a place (I meant our flat, not this country) and people I know and became friends with. I hate starting from a scratch somewhere where we don’t know anybody. Fine, Austria is a small country and Marcus’ parent’s place can’t be that far but still, we will be in a new neighbourhood with new people talking new language (for me at least). Sure, I can already catch some sentences when I am watching movies in German but I have a difficulty understanding Austrians. You see one funny thing about Austrians is the fact that even if they are able to speak high German, they refuse to and I don’t know why. If I asked my husband to talk to me in high German, he says something like “Alright, but only to you.”

I hope that it’s not that difficult to get them to talk in English.

Remote Meetings

My husband works for a company that has a main office Austria, a branch in Shanghai, and a project in Changchun. One of the difficulties of working for a big company is that you have to sometimes accommodate business matters even if it’s after your working hours. Yep, my husband has to attend remote meetings whenever his bosses in Austria and colleagues in Shanghai require reports from him whenever he needs some information from them. It’s not cool that sometimes he has these meetings until 9:30 in the evening but at least he doesn’t have to travel to other places just to collaborate with his work mates and also, he can join these meetings even if he is at home. These remote meetings are made possible by companies like RemotePC.com. For a cheap price of 19.95$ each month, participants can make presentations online, can collaborate with each other, can chat with selected participants and can do a lot of other things. They can conduct meetings remotely with high security, meaning they can be sure that all data transmitted during the entire meeting are protected.

I Miss…

I miss eating fish. Here, you can buy fish from Walmart or from the wet market but they’re nothing like what we have in the Philippines.

I don’t like veggies that much and I am getting tired of pizza, pasta, and meat. I want fish! And not just any fish! I want fish from Philippines. Pritong Tilapia, Paksiw na Galunggong, Boneless Bangus, Sinigang na Sapsap, Maya-maya, Lapu-lapu, Espada and a lot more. I also miss tinapa (smoked fish) and tuyo (salted dried fish).

This is another sad thing about living so far away from the sea. Sure there are lakes here but errr….ummm…maybe they’re not the cleanest so there is that to worry about. Also, brackish water fish and sea water fish taste better for me. I prefer them more than those you get from fresh waters.

Other than fish I also miss Sisig and Crispy Pata. I can make my version of these here but they won’t be as good as the ones I can have in the Philippines. My husband cannot imagine eating any meat from an animal’s head so I made the Sisig from a regular pork chop, mayonnaise instead of pig’s brain, lemon instead of Kalamansi (because they don’t have Kalamansi here) and other ingredients.

I also put some lemon slices on it just to make it look nice. The taste was okaayyyy… better than no Sisig at all.

Change of Heart

I what this now and not the Nokia N70 I previously want to have.

It’s a little bit more expensive but it is more practical, more advanced, and more chic.

Still Busy…

I am really busy so I am sorry to those who are commenting in this blog and not getting any answer from me. I promise to make it up to you in the next few days.

You see, I have started a blog, Bizarre Marriage, just recently and it still needs some more work plus I am also assisting Pages After Pages, Digitally Designed, and Simply Yulishen. Actually it’s not just this blog I am neglecting, Penny Wise has been stagnant for weeks now!

Gosh, I should really consider giving up some of my blogs.
