Traveling and Blogging Plans

We agreed that we had enough of Beijing so for the first weekend of April, we will go somewhere else. We only have a few months left to stay in China and there are other interesting nearby cities we have not seen yet. Like Dalian. I’ve heard it’s beautiful there so if there are no constraints, we will most probably go there.

This will take some time off my blogging again so right now, I am trying so hard to finish putting up my new blog—BizzareMarriage.com. It’s almost done actually. Every task I’ve mentioned in its first entry is done plus I’ve added some more pages however they are still almost empty so I have to polish them further. I plan to add two more pages that would further allow readers’ involvement and interaction. I also plan to run some contests where readers can participate so I hope that you are tuned in for that. Right now, I have to add BizzareMarriage.com to some listings then after that I can I can start the contests immediately.

Going back to traveling to Dalian, my mom said she saw some awful news about dreadful disputes between mainland China and Tibet and now she’s worried that we are affected. Well, we are not affected although we’ve heard that there were some violent rallies happening in some major cities all over China. Hmm… Maybe it’s best to postpone Dalian for now.

Just When You Thought…

Spring Festival, according to what I believe, marks the start of the spring season. This year’s Spring Festival is over two months ago. Since then the weather temperature is climbing up. We had over 10 degrees in the last few days!

But just when you thought spring is here and summer is not far away, this happens:

Yep, it snowed… again! And according to my German teacher who seems to follow weather reports closely, it’s going to be like this for a few days. Sucks!

His Job

I asked Marcus if I can post some screen shots of the car they are working on in this blog but he refused. He explained that things like these are top secrets especially when they are still in the development process and these should not be shown to anybody outside the company Duh! (I should tell his boss he showed it to me!). Actually, while he was showing the CATIA designs to me, I honestly cannot make any sense out of them except that these multi colored parts are forming into something that looks like a car! Haha. Anyway, I found this picture somewhere and yeah, my husband is working on something which is looking pretty much like this:

He and his colleagues are taking pains in detailing each corner, angle, curve, and part of that car they’re building which is by the way, rumored to be made only for prominent politicians in this country. According to him, although this is supposed to be a special luxury car, he felt bored being a part of its development team because he was already in a more complicated project—the Audi R8.

From cars, he now wants to transfer to airplane developments. Duh!

My Garden

My garden consists of two plant pots placed by my window. Haha. You see, we live in a flat no where near the ground floor of a building so that means no ground—no garden. I have to use pots to grow our herbs.

I have not seen other herbs besides coriander here in China. There should be more but all are unknown to me and because I don’t use them for cooking, they are not must haves. But basil, rosemary, oregano, and dill are essential especially when I am cooking for my husband. He was the one who bought the seeds and brought them here from Europe because we need these if we want to follow and perfect the recipes from our cookbooks.

Future Finance Issues

I suppose my husband and I don’t have that much financial problem YET. You see, we don’t have kids (yet) and all of our city services like water, electric, and heating bills are being paid for by my husband’s company. We even don’t have to worry about our flat’s rent and the maid’s salary because all of those are covered by my husband’s company benefits—that’s the beauty of working abroad.

But we are moving back to Austria soon so we can forget all about those great benefits. Settling in Austria will surely entail a lot of money since we will start from a scratch. We have to buy a flat, we have to get another car, and we have to pay for all the city services! I know that is how it is supposed to be but considering the cost of living in Europe…this will surely come as a major shock for our savings account.

I worry most about buying a flat and getting another car because we will get these through mortgages. This means we have to pay monthly amortization for…who knows how long. We have to devise a good budget plan. If we want to avoid getting a debt management plan or declaring bankruptcy, we have to really tighten out belts and forget all those frequent shopping, dinning out and traveling.

How Do You Like My New Theme?

The old theme was working fine. The only thing I didn’t like about it is the fact that it is so popular…there are a lot of blogs out there that uses the same theme so I felt that I needed to change it.

I got busy twicking a new theme for this blog. I am not a designer and my knowledge about CSS and web designing is too basic so it took me so much time to do as little as change the colors and the header. That’s the main reason why I neglected to write posts in the past few days. Also, I started a new blog and you are welcome to check it out. It is up and running although I still need to do so some things on it before I can say that it’s completely done. Details about it and my plans for it will come in later.

In other news, I might give up some less productive blogs in order for me to focus more on my other blogs that are working well for me. MyPinkNotes will definitely continue even if it will never get back its PR in its blog life. Why? Because next to My Take on Things, this is the second most personal blog I have so I want to keep it. (Hell, I wouldn’t spend so much time redesigning changing the theme, would I?)
