Dead Bugs and Bird’s Poop

It’s a nice day today. Finally, I can now open our bedroom windows to let the air in. The sun shines brightly today. I was planning to work in the garden but then the bugs are bugging me, literally. When it is springtime in Maine, bugs are my enemies. I hate them. I hate them when they are buzzing in my ear. I hate them when they are chewing on my checks. I hate them for choosing my car’s windshield their resting place.

There are two things that I hate to find in my car when I am washing it… dead bugs and bird’s poop. They are the most difficult things to remove from the surface. No matter how hard I scrub and soap and rinse, they are still there leaving significant traces of their presence. And with this in mind, there is no excuse but to wax. I hate waxing car too. Oh, boy, there goes my usual rant.

The Wedding Planner is No Monster-in-Law

cardFor a woman, her wedding is the most important part of her life. It is a woman’s dream to marry her Prince Charming. I was one of those women. I was one of those ladies waiting for her dream-come-true moment to say “I DO”. I was one of those damsels-in-distress hoping that Fairy Godmother will grant my wish.

Well, I got my wish… sort of. I met my Prince Charming [of all places] online. It was not what I was really hoping for. But I have no regrets. I fell in love with this guy and after our first meeting… mountains were moved… oceans were crossed… and cultural barriers were broken. We had the first day of our “happy ever after” at the light house July of last year.

Our wedding is memorable to me because, my Fiancé’s Mother is no Monster-In-Law. She was, of all people, our wedding planner, coordinator, manager and arranger rolled in one. I didn’t do anything in the preparation of the wedding. She took care of everything. But if there is one thing that I really had my hand’s on, it was in choosing the invitation card. She let me have my way in choosing the right invitation for my special day. Isn’t she nice or what?

Good thing I found this 1st Class Wedding Invitations website and was thrilled by the wide collections of their invitation cards. The website has a nice feature where you can zoom the image of the card out and you can actually have a clear idea of the quality of the card you are choosing – its texture, color, print, and what not. Hover the mouse on the picture and you can see a clear picture of the card that you are ordering. My invitation card stood out in my wedding. Friends and relatives loved it and had it for keep sake.

My Prince Charming and I will celebrate our first wedding anniversary in a couple of months and I know the wedding invitation that I kept for myself as a remembrance of that special day in our life will stand the test of time, just as we will spend the rest of our lives together.

On Being Left Alone

luggageAS OF THIS WRITING, Vienna is already airborne. I will be peddling on my own. I had to do things on my own now. No more screwing up. No more doing silly things. No more swanking. My training period was cut short because Vienna is moving out.

AS OF THIS TIME, I am still nervous to be on my own. Vienna assured me that “everything’s gonna be alright.” But still I am kinda panicky because I don’t know what to do when things go wrong. I don’t know how to “trouble shoot”. I don’t know how to fix things here. I am screwed up because Vienna is going on a vacation.

AS OF NOW, I am still finding my way here. Vienna taught me a lot of things here. She taught me how to justify the paragraph. She taught me how to insert pictures. She taught me where I can find certain buttons in the control panel. Now that she is on vacation, I had to figure out things alone.

Oh well, as they have said… you got to do what you got to do. So I will do it. Wish me luck.

To Vienna… hope you have fun. Enjoy your vacation and We will miss you.

The Website of Websites

Blog. Blogger. Blogging. It’s addictive. It’s fascinating. It’s enthralling. I have a blog. I am a blogger. And I love blogging. But there is a problem. Big Time! My knowledge about websites are very limited to just blog, blogger and blogging.

But I am resourceful. I am ingenious. And I am willing to learn. With the benefit of the internet, everything is a breeze. There are lots of websites that could give tutorials on almost everything. I only need to search for it and presto… tons of links will be flashed before my eyes and I could surf, explore and discover.

And that’s when I stumble upon a cool website that gives web hosting articles and tutorials. The web hosting tutorials are very helpful to non-computer savvy like me. This website gives a lot of information about websites – from web hosting to web development to web management articles – this is the “holy” site for world wide web enthusiasts, so to speak. This is the site for us “non-computer savvies” because this site answers all our questions about the web.

Hannah Montana vs. Rambo

I get star struck every now and then. I remember growing up having crushes with movie and sports stars alike. I remember collecting a lot of pictures, posters and what not of famous celebrities. I remember that my room was a gigantic collage of my youthful fanaticism and crazy celebrity infatuation.

One time my hubby and I went to watch a movie in this big movie house. My hubby being an enochlophobia that he is was terrified when he saw what seemingly a riot of pint sized fans mobbing the movie theater. He wanted to back out and stated driving to the exit of the huge parking lot. But then, being a charmer that I am, I was able to convince him that those kids were not there to watch the same movie that we were supposed to watch. He didn’t believe me just the same. We argued as usual. And I won again, of course.

We bought the ticket, got the popcorn and watched the movie. And guess what? We were the only people who were in that viewing room. There are 10 movie rooms in the cinema and the mob went to crowd Hannah Montana. So we enjoyed Rambo all to ourselves and hubby was happy.

The Crime Busters

Do you have what it takes to be a celebrity? Do you have all the perks of a celebrity? Or do you also have the tendency to get into trouble like a celebrity? You know… those troubles that Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears are dealing with day in and day out.

We all know that even celebrities are not immune to state law, court orders, crime and punishment [I don’t mean Fyodor Dostoevsky’s book]. If you live in Los Angeles, you are a Hollywood star in you own right. And with that, you are also exposed to a lot of good and bad things Los Angeles has to offer. So just in case you are out with Paris, or Lindsay or Britney partying all night… drinking like a fish and having fun like no tomorrow… when it’s time to go – please don’t drive. But in case you forgot… don’t worry because there is someone who could help you with your DUI problem.

If it happened… who do you call? Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorneys | California Felony and Misdemeanor Defense Lawyers… the Crime busters of California. They are the ones that can be trusted. Kestenbaum, Eisner & Gorin, LLP is a top rated US law firm in California. It has a remarkable legal staff consisting of Former Senior Los Angeles Prosecutors who have tried and litigated hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases.

So go ahead, eat… drink… and party… but don’t drive. But if you forget – who do you call? The crime busters!

The Lessons I Learned from My Students

I know from experience how hard it is to deal with kids. I am not yet a mother. But still I am more qualified to say the least that kids are hard to deal with. I deal with them for 12 long years.

As I have mentioned before I was a former teacher. I taught high schools kids. Yep, not just any kids but kids in the most critical stage of their lives. I dealt with kids who are in their transitions. I dealt with kids who are confused and outraged. I dealt with kids who are torn and abused.

It was really a wonderful life-changing experience to know those kids. I learned a lot from their life stories. I learned a lot from their personal experiences. I learned a lot from their struggles. It made me a stronger person. It made me more understanding and compassionate. It made me what and who I am now.

Creating Artistic Memories

I love scrapbooking. It relaxes me. It is fun. It is challenging.

I love special family occasions – be it a small gathering babyor a grand one. I love remembering the good memories those occasions sketched in my heart. And since I also love scrapbooking, you can imagine what I could to with all those pictures and invitation cards that are associated with those occasions.

I love special family occasions because it is a great opportunity to create new unforgettable memories with people I love [and another page in my scrapbook].

When my sister gave birth to her baby girl, I threw a party for her and her baby. I surpised her with those wonderful photo birth announcements I ordered from DoodlebugDezigns.com. She loves the invite because it is personalized and unique. I love it too because it is easy to order, has good quality print and affordable [and makes a nice lay-out on my scrapbook].
