Being married for only a year, I am still in the adjustment period. Being in an intercultural marriage, I am still dealing with culture shock. Being a new wife, I am still learning my way in the marital hi-way.

Just like any relationship my partner and I are going through the same marital roller-coaster-ride. It’s unbeatable. When the honeymoon is over, reality sinks in. And couple has to deal with each other’s flaws. It’s invincible. When problems are hard to confront, you end up confronting each other. And couple has to deal with the problems without losing self-respect. It’s frustrating. When principles are compromised, pride could set in. And couple has to either give in or give up.

Marriage is a hard work. It needs a lot of patience, understanding and perseverance. But still there will come a time when the couple will need intervention to be able to work it out because they cannot handle the situation all by themselves.
