Our Simple Anniversary

We celebrated our one year of being married together on a plane. Yep. I was so angry at Marcus when he unthinkingly booked our flights from Vienna to Shanghai on the evening of October 12 (GMT +1:00) so technically we were on air when October 13 happened.

So I didn’t expect too much from the beginning. We agreed to just celebrate it a day earlier so on October 12, we went to a nice place for lunch and after that, we revisited the villa where we got married. We spent a quiet afternoon there and at 5:00 pm we drove to the airport.

For me that was our anniversary.

But on the 13th while on the plane, we were served with a very special wine. Afterwards, a warm “Congratulations” from the pilot and the flight crew was heard from the voice over. The whole plane cheered for us and asked that we kiss and so we did. :)

(More details to come).

Income from Blogging for September 2008

I don’t know how much will I earn this month from blogging but it looks like I won’t be reaching my monthly target of 500.00$ due to PR decline of all of my blogs. It’s already the 19th and I have not even reached the half of that.

For those who don’t know yet, blogging also have its ups and downs. It’s not always pajama party. It’s not like you create a blog and watch it bring you money. No, no, no. You have to continuously work on it. Now, when your blog is “up” try to make the best out of it. What I mean is, try to make as much money as you can from it because there are certainly some dry months too.

Last month was a good month for me. I say this because even if I was studying everyday in the afternoons, I still managed to reach my target but I am not holding my breath for October. Since I’ve learned that my PRs went down, I already know that October, November, and December will be my dry months.

Going to a Costume Party

In line with the upcoming Halloween, Marcus’ company decided to hold a costume party. A few week ago, we discussed about it and we started to think what our costumes will be. First, he said he wanted to go as Dracula but who is the partner of Dracula? Winona Ryder? I cannot really remember but whoever she is, she’s not looking scary at all. I wanted that we go there as partners. If one is looking scary then the other must be looking scary too so “Dracula and his partner” will not work.

After a lot of thinking and kidding around, we finally agreed to go there as Franz and Sissi-the last Emperor and Empress of Austria. And since we were in Austria that last week, we went shopping for our costumes. They were a lot of choices of Dirndls and Lederhosen so we didn’t exactly have a hard time looking for the costumes. Dirndl and Lederhose are the native costumes of Austria so they have a lot of it. We just need some costume wigs to go with out traditional Austrian clothes and all will be perfect.

I am sure that weren’t we in Austria that time; we would have a hard time looking for the costume and we would probably just have ordered it online. For me, I like both kind of shopping: Online shopping for its convenience and old fashioned shopping for its fun.

Have a Happy Halloween everyone!

After a Month of Blogxi

I am pleased with the success of Blogxi over the first month of its existence. I have to say that I got some serious bloggers who signed up there. I don’t know how far can Blogxi go but I am please of its growth.

Following are the new blogs hosted by Blogxi and I am really thankful to the authors for giving Blogxi the honor to host their blogs.

I Love Sterndal
Journal Logger
Scrappy Thingy
The Brain Hailing Job
Mariandrea

To the authors, I promise to make Blogxi better and thank you once again for giving Blogxi a chance.

Cheers to Blogxi!

I was long gone but during our holiday in Austria, I always tried to check Blogxi as much as I can and I am pretty happy that there are some serious bloggers who signed up there. One blog I constantly read and eagerly wait for updates is “I Love Sterndal”. It became immediately my favorite because I can always sense sincerity and honesty in it. The author of the blog is someone I don’t personally know but looks like we are going to be good online friends. She seems like a nice simple Filipina girl and I think she’s pretty smart.

D Brain Hailing Job” is also one hell of a personal blog and though I know the author is not a student from UP, he really sounds to be so. I think he can write for the “Young Blood”—a compilation of cool writings from college students.

Another frank and honest personal blog is the “Journal Logger”. Here you’ll read about the life of “Abby”—a mom to “Princess Vav” and a wife who works overseas. Be lost in her insightful views of life, be entertained, and be uplifted.

Ruthi, who you surely already know, also has a blog in Blogxi. “Scrappy Thingy” shows her collection of Haikus and scrap books. That woman has around 10 blogs! I don’t know how she manages everything. All I know is that she can manage everything well.

Blogxi’s blog should also be updated soon—that’s my job and I am really sorry if I can’t update it as often as I like. “Penny Wise” should also be updated soon! Urg! I have other blogs in line needing new entries and I don’t know where to start! I mean really?!? Ruthi must be a superwoman!

This Halloween

18146z.jpgI dropped by at the department store to pick up a few things awhile ago and I noticed that a bunch of people were gathering in one lane of the store. I went closer to check what it was all about only to find out that there’s an ongoing sale of Halloween costumes and I realized that it’s almost Halloween! It’s not as special as Christmas or Valentine’s Day but Halloween is a famous holiday for fun and parties. I am sure that a lot of kids out there are looking forward trick-or-treating with their friends. I remember having so much fun doing the same when I was a kid. The candies were sweet but I always secretly hoped that we were doing the tricks instead because it was more fun.

But Halloweens are for adults too and now that I am an adult, I would prefer getting Halloween treats Like the one shown in the picture. A fresh mum plant, delicious candy corn and an adorable plush character, from somebody will be super nice. And of course I’ll make it sure to send out some treats too.

My Blog’s New Look

Sorry for not updating this blog so more two weeks. For those of you who are visiting this blog for the first time and for those of you who doesn’t read my other blogs, the reason of my absence is because I am away for two weeks. We are now in Austria for our quarterly visit here but we will fly back to China in a few days.

Meanwhile, I have change My Take on Thing’s look because I think that there are already a lot of blogs that uses the old Misty Look theme. I hope you like my new theme. :)
