I had my gynecologist appointment today. I should have had may check up six weeks after the birth of my son but my gynecologist was on holiday. I didn’t want to see another gynecologist so I waited this long for an appointment.
Among other things, this check-up is to let me know if all the organs in my pelvic area returned to where they’re supposed to be. This is very important since childbirth can cause urine control problems and some other more serious problems such as inability to orgasm and POP or pelvic organ prolapse. I am not really concern about the inability to orgasm because it can be remedied by pilates and kegel exercises but POP is something I really consider serious.
Women who get POP have to a get vaginal mesh implant to slow down or to prevent the womb from falling into the vagina. But the problem does not end after getting a vaginal mesh implant because vaginal mesh implants are known to cause many negative side effects such as urinary problems, pain during intercourse, perforations within the bladder, organ injuries, and infections. The mesh can also erode in the vagina causing a much bigger problem. Many who went through a vaginal mesh implant find themselves filing vaginal mesh lawsuits because they are experiencing one or more of the side effects.
I don’t want to go through all that so I went through this check-up even though I am feeling all okay down there. Prevention is always better than cure and I strongly believe in that.
