Last autumn, I bought an Ipad. I bought it using the money I earned from my small web designing gigs. When I told my husband that I am going to buy an Ipad, he didn’t really approve because I just got a MACbook in January 2011 and an Iphone 4 in August 2011. He said I really don’t have any use for an Ipad. He’s right but I went ahead anyway without a bad conscience because I was spending my own money.
I use my Ipad everyday to read my news and blog feeds, to visit facebook, to tweet, to read children stories to my baby boy, and to read my ebooks and emags. I like my Ipad a lot. I bring it everywhere I go. I do have an Iphone that has pretty much all the capabilities of an Ipad but it is not the same. I use my phone for calling, texting, and as a secondary Ipad but it is hard to read from a small screen all the time so for someone who likes to read, the Ipad is a practical thing.
As for my Macbook, I use it mainly for work—web designing, photo editing, graphic designing, and for blogging. I also use it to chat with family and friends since I am more comfortable tying on a real keyboard.
So anyway, a few days ago I dropped my Ipad. I didn’t break it but it ended up with an ugly dent on the upper left corner. I asked my husband straighten the dent carefully by pulling the folded metal part with long nose pliers. He said I should just let it be. I didn’t listen to him. I insisted that he should fix it because I am maarte (tangek ko talaga!). But the thing is, the metal part and the glass are too close to each other so no amount of carefulness could have fixed the dent. While trying so hard to flatten the folded metal part, my husband accidentally break the glass (Buti nga sa kin! Ang arte arte kasi. Ayan tuloy, wala ng Ipad!)
I shouldn’t have dropped it. And when I did, I should have just let it be and shouldn’t have insisted of having it fixed. Stupid me.
The Ipad is still working perfectly of course but the broken glass kind of crippled it. I got sad a little bit… I mean, it was not cheap (at pinaghirapan ko ito ha)! I guess my hubby picked up on that so he bought a glass replacement right away. When it arrives, he’ll change the broken glass himself.
I hope it works so I can use my precious Ipad again.
