On having a baby

After almost two years of being married we are naturally bombarded with questions such as

“When is the baby coming?”

“Are you already expecting?”

“No? So when do you plan do you plan on having a baby?”

“Sorry but do you have fertility problems?”

“Don’t you ever like to have babies?”

I always answer these questions politely although sometimes they are kind annoying especially when they come from people who are obviously nosey.

Thing is, we are not yet pregnant because we want to stay that way for the time being. That is to say—we are carefully planning and preparing for it but we are also open to surprises. We will always welcome pregnancy whether it happens now or later like we plan. And when it does, it will certainly be great time for me and my husband. It will be my first time and I am quite happy to know that I have loving a loving husband, parents and in-laws who will support me through the process and will help me and give me tips about pregnancy and about raising a child. And if that is not enough, there are websites created to help expectant parents. Websites such as ParentsConnect.com answers and discusses questions that may arise before or during pregnancy. They have expert advices column that offers pregnancy guidance and support from professionals and there is also a forum where parents can simply share about their pregnancy issues and help others with theirs. This website has the answers to various questions about pregnancy and other things connected to being pregnant.

Such websites are truly helpful to parents who are experiencing a wonderful and special time.

Don’t let the media manipulate your health

Contrary to what we see everywhere, being waif-thin is not healthy. Many would argue that “thin equals beautiful” but that is simply not the case. This popular belief is effortlessly pushed by the media to extremes. It is the media that dictates that we should put much importance on weight and body image and it is the media that says “the thinner you are, the more beautiful you are” but the realistically, a lot of women suffers poor health in their aim to become as thin as they can be.

Women have curves because they’re supposed to have them. If the pharmaceutical companies  that produce weight loss pills and if those designers  create outfits that fit only to child-like figures cannot understand that then shame on them.

You are a woman. It’s completely normal to have curves. Curves are beautiful!

Enough of the “I can’t find a right size that fits me, I have to lose weight!” A dress should fit you and not the other way around. If you can’t find your size, then you are not looking hard enough because there are really good places to get plus size clothes.

Try looking at Plussizefix.com. You’ll see that plus size clothes don’t mean baggy jeans and loose sweatshirts. Their clothing line includes fashionable and smart clothes for ordinary days, casual and special events. And not only that, their items are also affordable.

You are a woman. If you have curves embrace them and flaunt them.

Practicality on Eye Care

A New York Times article published on the 29th of January, 2009 about saving on eye care mentioned ZenniOptical.com as a good place to get the cheapest eyeglasses from. I think Zeni Optical deserves such mention because they really offer the most competitive prices for eyeglasses.

A lot of people say that we should never be stingy when it comes to eye care because we only get a pair eyes for the rest of our lives but spending around $500 or more on eyeglasses or contact lenses a year is just so grand and not all of us can dish out that much. Sometimes people postpone their eyeglasses’ upgrade to their new eye prescription because of the fact that they can’t afford it.

So for those of you who are not so lucky to get a perfect 20/20 vision, you can get your spectacles from Zenni Optical for better prices. The eyeglasses shown in the photo is my personal choice because of its classic design, its availability in different color, and believe it or not, it costs only 8$. That is to better illustrate how cheap specs are from Zenni Optical.

Also you have to know that when you purchase from Zenni Optical, you yourself will be the one to input the specifications of your eyeglasses. So once you get your prescription from your doctor, you can directly set your browsers to ZenniOptical.com and order your eyeglasses there.

Remember it is not about being stingy… it is about being pratical.

Save on Your Eye Care

I started wearing eyeglasses in my mid 20s and since then, my eyeglass prescription is getting higher every time I visit my ophthalmologist. And because I couldn’t live with just one pair of eyeglasses (hey, my glasses have to match what I wear! *wink), I have to frequently change all of my specs’ glasses to accommodate my new prescription. This is the reason why I spent so much on my eye care but that is now a thing of the past.

When I read about Zenni Optical in my friend’s blog, I went to check out their website immediately and sure enough, they do have really cheap eyeglasses. They were even featured in the New York Times because they offer the cheapest glasses therefore helping people save a lot of money on their eye care.

The eyeglass in the picture above is from Zenni Optical and believe it or not, it only costs $8.00. I like it because of its classic and simple design and it comes in different colors too.

If you are in the lookout for some stylish prescription glasses, you can easily order them online from ZenniOptical.com. It’s so easy to order! Just browse their collection of glasses and choose the one you want. As for your prescription, they have a form where you can input your prescription yourself making sure that you’ll get the pair of eyeglasses you need. Visit their site now to learn more.

Take Advantage of the Recession

When else is the best time to buy stocks and real estate properties other than now? I believe that the economy cannot get worse than how it is at the moment so whatever you invest now will increase its value as soon as the economy picks up again.

A friend of ours who owns a house in Detroit is now selling his house for a quarter of the house’s original price. That’s to illustrate how cheap real estate properties are this time. If I were to buy a real estate property now, I’d just get one of those cheap houses in the market but for those of you who like to build their homes from a scratch, there’s Schumacher Homes. This company is known for quality home construction, exceptional value and award winning designs so if you want a house that is built for your family,  consider contacting them.

Giving Up on Blogging

I feel like a zombie now because I stayed up until 3:00AM last night. I wanted to stay longer in bed but when Marcus woke up at quarter to seven to go to the gym (though he tried so hard not to make any sound), I woke up too. Marcus told me to try to go back to sleep but I can’t anymore.

This blogging thing makes me crazy sometimes. It sucks to have to wait for opps at night and it sucks even more when they come the minute you gave up and decided to go to bed. That’s what happened to me last night (and some other nights) so instead of going to bed, I took three opps because I know for sure that these opps will be gone in few minutes.

I can’t do this for long. I need a real job soon.

Looking Forward to Christmas

Four weeks from now we will be heading to Austria for our Christmas holiday. That could only mean massive shopping for gifts. I asked my husband’s relatives if they could send us their Christmas list so we could save time thinking what to buy but I don’t think they’d be giving it to us. Maybe it is out of modesty or maybe they just want to keep the surprise and excitement. It could also be both.

In my case, I got my Christmas gift from Marcus already but even so, I am still looking forward to the occasion because these means a lot of things I enjoy like wrapping gifts, putting up the Christmas tree, decorating the house, and sitting by the fire just talking and enjoying the cozy atmosphere.
