feeling romantic

I am a sweet person. And by sweet I mean, thoughtful and affectionate.

Everybody I really know says so. I honestly think so too because I am often told by my (trustful) mom that I’ve been sweet since the day I was born. I was also told several times by my husband that one of the things that made him fall in love with me is my sweetness.

Being sweet is an asset and for those who are not-so-sweet, you could learn some sweet things to say to your girlfriend or boyfriend (you just have to revise it a bit if you’re to say it to a BF). Being sweet is not just having a sweet tongue though, you should also be comfortable with showing your affection physically.

thinking of a naughty gift

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. In the past years, hubby and I worked all out to make this occasion special but since we are busy with other things this year, we agreed to keep it simple.

By simple I understand that we will be skipping the lavish celebrations but we will definitely still do the gifting. And because we are keeping it simple this time, I would like to give him a simple yet very personal gift. I haven’t decided on one yet. Customized stuff such as shirts, mugs, personalized pens are very common already but are still not a bad idea. They’re still on my choices.

But I want something really personal so perhaps I’ll visit the naughty “s” shop and get something from there. What do you think? Haha! It crossed my mind several times before but I never gave him anything of that sort. So anyway, I want something funny to give (like a macho dancer costume—hahaha!) and that’s where I thought of getting it from. I always fancy going inside one of those shops because of curiosity but not once did I find the courage to do so. Perhaps this time… Who knows? *Wink! If not then personalized stuff it is!

the sweetest thing

Although hubby and I have been together for more than three years, I still feel a bit shy every time he asks me what I want to receive as a gift (for special occasions). But my shyness is not the reason why I always say “flowers” when confronted with such a question. I really like flowers and I think that flowers make a special occasion more special. Flowers are very romantic. I think that they can melt the heart of most women.

Valentine’s Day is still a month away but I am sure that soon, hubby will ask me what I want for this occasion. And after hearing my answer, he’ll ask his second question which is, “other than that?” I can’t understand why a lot of men give themselves a hard time thinking what they could give their partner for Valentines! What is more romantic than flowers?!? Beats me.

So they could google the Top Valentine’s Gifts for 2010 but if anyone wants my advice, give your sweetheart a bouquet and some chocolates or balloons. It’s predictable and old fashioned but it is still romantic. You could, of course, give some other things too (if you want to be gallant with your present) but never ever forget the flowers.

Sentementalist

mytakeonthings-dried-flowers.JPGI am a very sentimental person and I know that this is the trait that stops me from throwing away things. I do keep old tickets and old candy wrappers if they mean something to me. Once, my mom told me that I am like a witch with all the unnecessary stuff in my bedroom.

The bouquets in the picture, for example, show how I can’t seem to let go of things. They are dry and…well, they don’t look nice anymore but I refused to throw them away. I got these from my husband and each bouquet reminds me of an important occasion but then there was a time when we needed to move out of our flat. That means I needed to throw away some things. My husband told me that I would be crazy if I would bring these old bouquets and yeah, I also realized that it is just so impractical to pack them and bring them with us. So I left them there in my old office room but not without, keeping some of their dried petals in a small box. I have this small box with me now and along with it are my other collections of small memories.

Box of Chocolates

gertrudehawkchocolates.jpegMy birthday is still three weeks away but I already got my birthday gift and I am really loving it. Although my husband told me that that should be it and that I should not expect more on my birthday, I just know that he will still do something special for me on that particular day. I don’t know yet what he’ll do but I am sure that I’ll receive a bouquet from him plus a small sweet gift like a teddy bear or a box of chocolates. Though these gifts are very common, I always appreciate them more than the expensive ones.

I think that chocolate gifts and flowers always melt the hearts of women who receive them. A man can never go wrong about giving a woman flowers and chocolates because these are always welcome no matter what the occasion is.

Fancy a Gerald Genta Watch?

thewatchery.jpgMy husband likes to call me a bag-and-shoes lady and I call him the-watch guy because he is really crazy about watches. He has this fancy box where he displays all his watch collection. Also, every time we pass by a watch store, he simply can’t help to check it out. He also has a collection of watch catalogues pilling up in our living room. That’s how crazy he is with watches. When I was thinking of a gift for him for our first year anniversary, I immediately decided to buy him a genuine titanium Skyhawk A-T Citizen watch. With watches, I can never go wrong. I just have to be careful that what I am giving him is not yet in his collection.

Anyway, if you are thinking of buying a watch for yourself or for somebody, check out TheWatchery.com because they are having a super sale now. Sale discounts are up to 70% off the retail price of some of their items. A Gerald Genta watch for example, can be bought for a price which is 5000$+ off the retail price. Too good to be true? Visit them now and see for yourself. I don’t know if you have a particular liking of Gerald Genta but if not then it is okay because they have other brands too. Hurry now because while they are still on sale!

A Present for Me

I got my birthday gift a month earlier! We went out last Sunday to shop for my gift. My husband bought me an iPhone for my birthday and since my birthday is still a month from now, he told me that I am not to use my iPhone yet until that day but I am glad that he doesn’t have the heart to refuse my request. He gave in right after I said “puuuuuuuhhhhhlllllleeeeaaasssssse!”

This iPhone will be Marcus’ birthday gift and Christmas gift for me. It’s really too bad that both occasions are in the same month. I say that not because I only get one gift for both occasion but because Marcus only go through the difficulty of deciding what to give me once a year!

I’m Loving It

vienna-iphone-1.jpgLast Sunday, I become a proud owner of a 3G 16GB white iPhone and I have to admit that I cannot complain about my new iPhone even though I initially wanted a Sonny Ericson Xperia. I can now understand why a lot of people go gaga over iPhone because I can personally experience how cool it is. Marcus insist that if it were his choice, he would have chose a Blackberry because he likes the feel of real keys. IPhone’s touch screen interface does not bother me in fact, I like it.The plan to read more books is now again on hold because I am too busy trying out iPhone apps and downloading music and podcasts.

Overall, I like the iPhone because of its cool features, user friendly software, and very sleek design.
