At Home with IP Address
I’m not really new in this cyber jungle. I’ve been using the internet for quite awhile now. And I am very grateful for this technology because without it, I wouldn’t have met the “love of my life”. Yes, I was one of those you can call “cyber-baby boomer”. [Nah, I coined that term just for the sake of the discussion]. Anyway, what I really meant was that, without the benefit of the internet I might be spending the rest of my life alone. My hubby and I met online. It was very romantic. It was practical. It was radical. We got married last year at the lighthouse. It was my fairytale-come-true moment. Now, the honeymoon period is over. I am a stay-at-home wife. Hubby works hard all day and I am back to square one – alone with my computer and internet.
With so much time in my hand, my dear computer and internet are my loyal companions. We have a real good connection, literally. And I will be forever grateful because they keep me in touch with my long time passion and first love… WRITING [new term: blogging]. Now I have so much time to write down all those nagging thoughts into a journal convertible to html and code and syntax [whatever that means].
But there is one problem. I know nothing about computers. I am just a blogger so trouble-shouting, formatting and what-not give me a hard time. Good thing my friend Vienna helps me a lot from setting up to formatting. She taught me a lot from special computer terms to its uses. And she guides me a lot from web hosting to IP address. Vienna is my fairy god-mother from cyber-land.
From her I learned about IP address and its importance. Then I stumbled upon this WhatIsMyIPAddress.com website where I found out more about ip or what is called Internet Protocol. This site gives me an insight on a lot of things about internet. This gives me the knowledge I need to be able to use the internet to the fullest. From this site, all my questions like hostnames, static IP addresses, DHCP and dynamic IP address (just to name a few) are addressed and answered. The site has a lot of TOOLS available for internet users and even FAQ that could easily be accessed when needed. WhatIsMyIPAddress.com is the site I go to, especially when my fairy god-mother is not available.
