Like Father Like Daughter
My step-daughter finally found her own apartment in the city. Her father and I helped her moved out. She has lots of stuff to bring to her new apartment that it took her more than a couple of weekends to sort things out and settle in. One of the reasons why she has a hard time sorting out things was that she can’t decide which stuff to bring and which stuff to leave, throw out, or put in the yard sale. After her seemingly endless struggle with the sorting thing-y she finally got everything figured out. Lastly, her father asked her if there is anything she wants for her new apartment. And without any hesitation she asked her father if she can have the grandfather clock that sits nicely in our living room.
It was her favorite piece in the house she said and she wants it because it reminds her of all the good memories she had growing up. Her father only laughed and with that she knew then that she was pushing her luck too much because that grandfather clock is also her father’s favorite piece in the living room.
A week after my step-daughter moved out, I surfed the internet and read an article from this cool website entitled “Make Clocks a Part of your College Shopping“ and showed it to my hubby and he was convinced that his daughter indeed need a clock. We found an amazing collection of grandfather clocks similar to the one we have in the living room from 1-800-4CLOCKS.com and instantly he bought one online for her. Now she is happy. She sits her new Howard Miller grandfather clock that her father gave her in her new living room. She is now ready to make new happy memories with her new found freedom.
