Random Thoughts on the Go

I am sitting right here in Lei Cafe Beijing Airport having coffee and updating my blog. I have to use the internet as much as I can now because for sure, I won’t have a very generous internet connection when I get home in our oh-so-remote town.

This is my view from right here.

That is my flight right there and I have to check-in in a bit. Chinese New Year is not my favourite time of the year to travel because airports are crowded; flights are more expensive accommodations in hotels are more expensive as well. Hate it.

I am coming home empty handed. My three nephews will look at me and wonder why their aunt Vienna doesn’t have anything for them. I can imagine now that this will break my heart. See, I didn’t know until a few days ago that I will be going home to the Philippines. We were expecting to go there in March so I said ok from now until March, we have time to go to for a weekend in Beijing to do some shopping but unfortunately that didn’t happen. Marcus working schedule changed and so the rest followed. Nobody’s fault. I was feeling a little bit heavy-hearted last night about going home empty handed but Marcus said we will make it up to them when he gets there (he will follow in a few days).

I won’t be seeing my husband for a few days. This is our first time to be apart from each other since we got married. Would be very interesting how it will be. As for me, I miss him already.

My Luggage

luggage.jpgThis is my luggage. See the ribbon? Yep, I placed it since I am not travelling with my ever dependable bodyguard and personal assistant Marcus (Hehe). But kidding aside, the very reason why I placed the ribbon is that so I can recognize this luggage among other similar luggage. Yep, it is a generic luggage. Without the ribbon, I wouldn’t know its mine if it is beside three others similar luggage (unless I look at the tags of course). My husband Marcus doesn’t have this problem. He can distinguish from afar if it is our luggage or not. Anyway, before you think I am a dimwit, I would like to explain that I just would like to make things easier for me. See, without the ribbon, I would be checking the tags to make sure I am picking the right luggage, but with the red ribbon, I can be sure.

I miss travelling with my husband because it is always way easier when I am with him. He does everything like carrying his and my luggage, getting a taxi, looking after the luggage when I need to visit the ladies room, and paying for my coffee (wink*). And most of all I miss having a shoulder to sleep on.

Sigh* Miss my hubby already.

Excuses Excuses

steiermark2.JPGI will be gone for at least 2 weeks and I don’t know how frequent can I post in this time.

We decided to go to Guimaras and I have today to arrange all our flights and hotel bookings. After that all will be finalized. I will be flying to the Philippines tomorrow and Marcus will follow after a week then off we go to Guimaras together.

I remember that I promised to post some pictures from our Christmas Holiday Vacation in Austria and I just realized today (when I was about to make a promise to post Guimaras pictures when I get back) that I haven’t yet. So here are some photos taken last Christmas in Austria.

The photo on the left side is a tower up in the mountains some where in Steiermark. :) Errr…I am sorry I am not very good in remembering dates as well as names of people and places.

Going To Some Place Warm

plane.jpgI am in a rush. Reason is because I am flying tomorrow to the Philippines and I haven’t packed my luggage yet. Though I love visiting places, I truly resent a lot of things connected o travelling and those are having to pack and unpack, being in a plane, being in an airport, waiting for flights, carrying my heavy luggage, and having a jetlag. Obviously, I will not have a jetlag this time because Philippines and China are in the same time zone but I cannot avoid the rest.

My flight to Beijing will start at 10:00 in the morning meaning I have to be at the airport by 8:30 and I will then arrive in Beijing at 12:00. The long flight from Beijing to Manila will start at around 4:00 in the afternoon so I have like 4 hours to wait in the airport. I will be travelling with Marcus’ EGDE China Mobile connection so I will surely have an internet connection to keep me occupied. Unfortunately, the plane to Manila will have a stopover in Xiamen for an hour. It sucks but it’s ok, I suppose the EDGE will still work there.

And then I will land at around midnight in Manila but that is not the end of it. There is still a 2 hour bus ride to my hometown. Now I should stop here because this is becoming like a stalker’s wet dream.

Regular blogging will resume after this two weeks holiday in the Philippines. Whenever I get hold of an internet connection, I will try to post at in at least one of my blogs.

Upcoming Holiday in the Philippines

We are going to have our Chinese New Year holiday in the Philippines! Yehey! I am so excited. My flight is on the 25th and as in, I am SOOOOOOOOOO excited!

I have a week to stay with my family in Tarlac then Marcus and I (and probably the whole family too) will go to some place nice.

Here are our options:

Guimaras (mango haven)
Bohol (too far already but I would really love to see the place)
Puerto Gallera
Subic
Pagudpud
100 Islands

The good thing about travelling within Luzon is that it is convenient and cheap. If we will be travelling with the family including my three super kulit (stubborn) nephews somewhere nearby is very ideal.

But Guimaras and Bohol are such lovely places!

So the deal would be if we go to Guimaras or Bohol, there would just be me and Marcus whilst if we go somewhere in Luzon, the whole gang can come too.

What would it be?

And by the way, how can I have non-stop wireless internet connection in the Philippines for two weeks? ( Don’t like a lock in period of 24 months) Got any ideas? Thanks.
