My brother in law is thinking of visiting us here in Shanghai for his spring break vacation. He said that instead of going to Tunisia with most of his classmates, he’d rather spend his vacation here in Shanghai because he has been to Tunisia several times.

I don’t have anything against my brother-in-law coming to stay with us for a week but I don’t understand these travel agencies in Europe that offer the same destinations for spring break vacations. I am sure that there are interesting places other than Tunisia and Turkey for students to spend their spring break in. Why can’t these agencies just go online and look for some other places because there are a lot of websites that offer resources for spring break ideas.

Xtremetrips.com is a very good example of an online resource about the best places where students can spend their spring break in. This website also offers some great deals that are surely affordable for students.

We went out shopping last Sunday and the thing I noticed the most is that department stores and shopping malls are already decorated with Christmas decors. It gives me a little bit feeling of the season even if it is just November. As early as now, I am already thinking of what gifts could I give to my love ones this Christmas and I am pretty sure that most of your are also in the same situation.

If you are thinking about what gift could you give to your child, nephew, or niece, or to any child, think no more because LettersFromSanta.com lets you send personalized letters from Santa mailed from the North Pole directly to your little receiver. I am sure that you’ll see the excitement and happiness to your child as she/he reads Santa’s message.

In line with the upcoming Halloween, Marcus’ company decided to hold a costume party. A few week ago, we discussed about it and we started to think what our costumes will be. First, he said he wanted to go as Dracula but who is the partner of Dracula? Winona Ryder? I cannot really remember but whoever she is, she’s not looking scary at all. I wanted that we go there as partners. If one is looking scary then the other must be looking scary too so “Dracula and his partner” will not work.

After a lot of thinking and kidding around, we finally agreed to go there as Franz and Sissi-the last Emperor and Empress of Austria. And since we were in Austria that last week, we went shopping for our costumes. They were a lot of choices of Dirndls and Lederhosen so we didn’t exactly have a hard time looking for the costumes. Dirndl and Lederhose are the native costumes of Austria so they have a lot of it. We just need some costume wigs to go with out traditional Austrian clothes and all will be perfect.

I am sure that weren’t we in Austria that time; we would have a hard time looking for the costume and we would probably just have ordered it online. For me, I like both kind of shopping: Online shopping for its convenience and old fashioned shopping for its fun.

Have a Happy Halloween everyone!

I dropped by at the department store to pick up a few things awhile ago and I noticed that a bunch of people were gathering in one lane of the store. I went closer to check what it was all about only to find out that there’s an ongoing sale of Halloween costumes and I realized that it’s almost Halloween! It’s not as special as Christmas or Valentine’s Day but Halloween is a famous holiday for fun and parties. I am sure that a lot of kids out there are looking forward trick-or-treating with their friends. I remember having so much fun doing the same when I was a kid. The candies were sweet but I always secretly hoped that we were doing the tricks instead because it was more fun.

But Halloweens are for adults too and now that I am an adult, I would prefer getting Halloween treats Like the one shown in the picture. A fresh mum plant, delicious candy corn and an adorable plush character, from somebody will be super nice. And of course I’ll make it sure to send out some treats too.

I am in a rush. Reason is because I am flying tomorrow to the Philippines and I haven’t packed my luggage yet. Though I love visiting places, I truly resent a lot of things connected o travelling and those are having to pack and unpack, being in a plane, being in an airport, waiting for flights, carrying my heavy luggage, and having a jetlag. Obviously, I will not have a jetlag this time because Philippines and China are in the same time zone but I cannot avoid the rest.

My flight to Beijing will start at 10:00 in the morning meaning I have to be at the airport by 8:30 and I will then arrive in Beijing at 12:00. The long flight from Beijing to Manila will start at around 4:00 in the afternoon so I have like 4 hours to wait in the airport. I will be travelling with Marcus’ EGDE China Mobile connection so I will surely have an internet connection to keep me occupied. Unfortunately, the plane to Manila will have a stopover in Xiamen for an hour. It sucks but it’s ok, I suppose the EDGE will still work there.

And then I will land at around midnight in Manila but that is not the end of it. There is still a 2 hour bus ride to my hometown. Now I should stop here because this is becoming like a stalker’s wet dream.

Regular blogging will resume after this two weeks holiday in the Philippines. Whenever I get hold of an internet connection, I will try to post at in at least one of my blogs.
